What is the opportunity?

The Northern Maternal Child Network (NMCN) is an organization that aims to help improve the health outcomes for the maternal and paediatric population living in Northern Ontario. Our vision is to work collaboratively with all maternal-child services throughout the region and province, and coordinate an integrated system of care.

The NMCN is one of six 6 maternal-child networks across the province that is connected to regional and provincial maternal and child tables. The NMCN is funded by Ontario Health North through the Ministry of Health (MOH), and is supported by the Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health (PCMCH) and Better Outcomes Registry and Network (BORN). The NMCN connects, hospitals, health service providers, and community stakeholders together

We need your help!
We you are looking for patients or family members who have accessed maternal, newborn or pediatric healthcare services to better understand the experiences, needs, and priorities of the systems as it relates to maternal-child care.

We are looking for volunteers that represent communities in our region, including those who:

• Have or are currently accessing obstetrical health services;
• Are a family member or caregiver of an infant/child who regularly accesses health services;
• Are interested in improving maternal-child care across the region;
• Represent the diversity of Northern Ontario.

Are you interested? Here is what we would need from you:

• To have an interest in working as an advisor within one or more of the NMCN committees: The Steering Committee, Maternal Newborn Committee, and/or the Child and Youth Committee;
• Provide occasional consultation to the Northern Maternal Child Network;
• Participate in improvement initiatives that will aim to improve the maternal-child care.
